Licensees' Information

Licensee Requirements:

• 8 CEUs required annually (July 1 - June 30).
• Max 4 hours from safety training (e.g., OSHA, HAZMAT).
• Max 2 hours from online courses.
• For pre-approved seminars, no need to apply for CEU approval or pay CEU application fees.
• Application fee is $10 per CEU for non-preapproved seminars; late submissions (after June 30) incur a $50 fee per CEU.

Submission Details:

• Requests for approval must be submitted within 60 days of the seminar/workshop, download and complete the CEU request for approval Form here.
• Required documents: Signed class program or registration, certificate of attendance/completion, and program timetable.
• Trade show attendance counts for 1 CEU max per show.

Additional Notes:

• CEU credits are awarded in 1-unit increments; programs under 50 minutes do not qualify.
• Presenters can receive credit for presenting and attending the remainder of the session.
• Submit copies of attendance proof (originals cannot be returned).
• If CEU approval is denied, licensees can appeal the decision to the Committee.
• There are 3 pre-approved seminars – The KGWA Annual Convention & Tradeshow (8 CEUs), the KGWA Spring/Summer Seminar and Demo (CEUs will vary), and the KDHE Geology & Well Technology Seminar (8 CEUs)

• Licensees will be notified in May, if they have not completed the CEU requirement for the current license year. Any appeals or corrections should be sent to the Committee, in writing, before June 1.
